Questions

Good questions, plain answers.

What Wren does, what Mom or Dad actually has to do, and what you get at the end.

Wren, and what they have to do

Who is Wren?

Wren is our AI biographer. Wren texts or calls your loved one once a week with a thoughtful question, listens, asks gentle follow-ups, and asks for photos when a story mentions one. Wren always says it is an AI, and a real person on our team reviews every book before it prints.

My dad doesn’t use apps. Will this work for him?

Yes. There is nothing to download. Wren works over ordinary text messages, WhatsApp or a regular phone call, including a landline. If he can answer the phone, he can tell his story.

How do they send photos?

They just take a picture of the old print with their phone and send it in the chat, or mail us the originals and we scan and return them. We restore every photo: fixing fading, creases and tears.

Time and family

How long does it take?

Conversations run for up to a year, at their pace. You can ask us to make the book whenever you like, at three months or at twelve, and add a second volume later if there’s more to tell.

Can the rest of the family take part?

Yes. Siblings and grandchildren can follow along, read new stories as they come in and suggest questions for Wren to ask.

What you get, and who keeps it

What does the life website include?

A private website with their chapters, a timeline, their restored photos, the reenactments and (with Legacy) recordings of their voice. It is shared by invitation only and you can download everything at any time.

What is a reenactment?

Some of the best moments in a life were never photographed. From the details in their stories, we create cinematic recreations of those scenes: the diner where they met, the night the war ended. They are always labelled as recreations, never presented as real photos.

How much does it cost?

Heirloom is $399 and Legacy is $799. Both include a year of conversations with Wren, the hardcover books, the life website and reenactment portraits. Extra hardcover copies are $59 each.

Who owns the stories?

Your family does. You can download every story, photo and recording, or delete it all, at any time.

Still wondering?

Ask us anything.

Whether your dad will really answer a text. Whether your mom would rather just talk on the phone. Anything at all. Write to us at hello@booksofmylife.com.
